Glorious Art Café
Full Address: 120 Fore Street, Exeter, EX4 3JQ

Right in the heart of Exeter’s West Quarter, we’re surrounded by some of the city’s most colourful independent shops, hidden gems and creative spaces. If you love a good wander, you’re in the right place. We’re tucked half way along Fore Street with the TBM Belt Makers next to us and opposite the historic Tucker’s Hall. Just look out for the colourful tables that are outside and follow the good vibes.

A Little About the Area

Fore Street is Exeter’s independent street with treasures, quirky boutiques, record shops, galleries, handmade gifts, and the kind of places you didn’t know you needed until you found them.

We’re neighbours with fellow small businesses, creatives, and makers, so visiting us is never just a coffee or sit down stop. It can be a little adventure. Pop in, then explore. Or explore, then pop in. (Or both. Definitely both.)

Getting Here on Foot

We’re perfectly placed in between town and the Quay:

From the High Street / Cathedral
An easy 5-minute wander downhill from Exeter Cathedral brings you straight onto Fore Street.

From the Quay
Coming up from the river? It’s a lovely uphill walk into town (around 10–15 minutes). The café sits right between the Quay and High Street, an ideal for a halfway treat stop.

By Bike

Cycling in? Great choice.

  • Fore Street is easily reached from Exeter’s cycling routes
  • The Quay → café route is a favourite ride
  • You’ll find places to lock bikes on the opposite side of the road to us and around the city centre

By Car & Parking

Fore Street itself is part of the historic centre, so parking is a little “creative”—but there are plenty of options nearby:

On-street parking

  • Available on the other side of the road and on surrounding streets (keep an eye on signage)

Nearby car parks (short walk away)

  • Mary Arches Street
  • Smythen Street
  • Cathedral & Quay

Most are just a 15 minutes’ walk from the John Lewis Car Park as well, perfect for a quick wander to the quieter and creative side of Exeter.

Accessibility

We want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable. As a historic building, we are limited for accessibility, and can offer the following:

  • Ground floor access to the main café space
  • Seating available downstairs (cosy and colourful!)
  • Toilets are upstairs via stairs

If you have specific access needs, just ask—we’ll do our best to make your visit an easy one.

Finding the Door

We’re on Fore Street, opposite Tucker’s Hall and nestled among independent shops, right in the middle of the action.

Look for colour, creativity, and probably someone smiling with a coffee in hand, that’s us.
